Director of Senior Adult Ministries

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church’s mission is to change lives that change the world. Our staff team is guided by the teachings of Colossians 3:12-14, and each are called to be servant leaders who embrace the values of commitment, cooperation, compassion, and kindness as they serve God, each other, and the congregation. We are seeking a Director of Senior Adult Ministries to oversee all ministry programs and activities for adult members and guests, ages 50+, of McFarlin.

Responsibilities include:

  • Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world
  • Create and oversee opportunities for spiritual and personal growth for senior adults
  • Provide congregational care to church members as part of the Care Team
  • Recruit and equip volunteers to lead programs and activities
  • Lead devotionals and spiritual formation opportunities for senior adults
  • Expand current ministry to include Boomer generation
  • Coordinate opportunities for mission and community outreach

Qualifications:

  • Passion for working with adults of different generations who are 50 years old and up
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate well in large group settings with people of different ages
  • Commitment to working as part of a team and supporting the mission of the church

This is a 30-hour per week position, and McFarlin offers competitive compensation, pension and health insurance benefits based on experience and education.

Associate Director of Children and Family Ministries

Our staff team is guided by the teachings of Colossians 3:12-14, and each are called to be servant leaders who embrace the values of commitment, cooperation, compassion, and kindness as they serve God, each other, and the congregation. We are seeking an Associate Director of Children and Family Ministries to manage all aspects of Elementary Children’s Ministries and to coordinate all Children’s Ministry events in cooperation with the Director of Children and Family Ministries.

Responsibilities include:
* Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world
* Oversee Sunday School for children in grades 1-5
* Direct Elements of Worship for children in grades 1-3 during Sunday morning worship
* Oversee Summer Spectrum
* Recruit and equips volunteers to lead programs and activities
* Supervise Preteen’s Intern
* Create and oversee other discipleship opportunities for elementary-aged children and their families
* Train volunteers in Safe Sanctuaries policies and practices

Qualifications:
* Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working with elementary-aged children in a ministry or educational setting
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to communicate with and relate well to children and adults
* Ability to work with a team and support the mission of the church
* Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education or Education preferred

Administrative Assistant for Children and Youth Ministries

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church’s mission is to change lives that change the world. Our staff team is guided by the teachings of Colossians 3:12-14, and each are called to be servant leaders who embrace the values of commitment, cooperation, compassion, and kindness as they serve God, each other, and the congregation. We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for Children and Youth Ministries to assist the Directors and Associate Directors of Children and Family Ministries and Youth Ministries with record keeping, communications, correspondence and other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include:
* Maintain records of attendance and participation in all children’s and youth events
* Manage online and other forms of communication for Children’s and Youth Ministries
* Assist Director and Associate Director of Children and Family Ministries, and Director and Associate Director of Student Ministries, with the ordering/purchasing of supplies and materials, organization of materials, printing, mailing, and other tasks as directed.

Qualifications:
* Strong organizational skills
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Word
* Ability to use electronic forms of communication, especially e-mail and social media
* Ability to work with a team and support the mission of the church
* Experience working as an administrative assistant preferred

This is a 20-hour per week position, and McFarlin offers competitive compensation based on experience.

Early Childhood Ministry Staff

Seeking engaging, attentive and dependable hourly individuals to join our team.  Provide care and discipleship during worship services, with our children, ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten.

Assistant Teachers – Summer Spectrum

We are seeking assistant teachers for our summer elementary children’s care program, Summer Spectrum.
Ideal applicants will have experience working with children, and will bring a positive spirit and high energy to our team.
This position has flexible hours and scheduling, up to 40 hours per week. The program runs from June 5 to August 4.
