Spring Break Mission 2017

Be part of the 24th Spring Break Mission, March 11 – 18, 2017, as we travel to the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas to repair homes, finish a house from the ground up, work on church buildings. serve at a food bank, and lead two Vacation Bible Schools.

Theme:  This year’s theme, #blessed, will explore what it means to be blessed by God and well as what it means to be a blessing to others in the name of Jesus.  We will discover that being blessed is less about what one has or what one gets and more about what one gives and what one sacrifices.  We will also find that the biblical idea of “blessed” is tied into what we sacrifice and give up, and not about what we obtain.

By giving to Fund A Project you  become a vital part of the story of the Spring Break Mission. Funds given help to cover the costs associated with our House From The Ground Up, home repairs, work on churches, and the leading of 2 Vacation Bible Schools.  Any leftover funds are used to help with future mission projects, including our summer missions and local missions throughout the year.

Sunday School Classes and small groups are invited to “adopt” one of our Spring Break Mission Teams.  The class or small group commits to praying for their adopted team; they are also encouraged to invite the team to one of their meeting times to get to know the folks on that team.  The class or small group is invited to make a donation to the Team’s Spring Break Mission project, and/or to make care packages for the Team members; although the donation and care packages are not a necessity, one or both of them blesses the Team in their efforts to serve in the name of Jesus.

For more information about adopting a Spring Break Mission Team, contact Scott Meier, director of student ministries, at 405-819-4363 or smeier@mcfarlinumc.org.
