Beth Carter is a native Kentuckian who has taught in the public schools of Kentucky and Oklahoma (most recently at Roosevelt Elementary School) for a total of eleven years. In addition to Elementary Education, she holds undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance. This musical training supported her involvement as a member of the Kentucky Opera chorus for seven seasons, and has influenced her participation in McFarlin’s Chancel Choir and as a volunteer with the children’s music program. Beth’s Masters of Education in Instructional Technology has not only impacted her own approach to teaching, but has also led her to train adults in the use of technology in the classroom. The Carters moved to Norman in 2004 when Beth’s husband, Chris, accepted a position as Assistant Professor in OU’s English Department. Their two children, Jonah and Ben, are also enthusiastic members of McFarlin’s Children’s Ministries!
