“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another … ”
(1 John 1:7a)
At a time when most of us long for deep fellowship and real community, McFarlin invites you to join us in nurturing and celebrating holy community. Together over the coming year, we’ll explore the many ways the Light of God shines within and through the relationships of God’s people.

This year’s sermon series and the learning and action options that go with them emerge from our scriptures after prayer-centered pursuit of what the Spirit would say to the church. Below is a brief overview of what we’ll be learning in worship in 2021.
During Lent we will explore being “real like Jesus” with texts in the Gospel of Luke. After Easter we’ll focus on the holy unity of the church as found in the writings of Paul. Over the summer we’ll spend 7 weeks studying in the book of 1 John. Near the end of August we’ll take a 5-week in-depth look at the great chapter on love in 1 Cor. 13. During October, we’ll cover 4 texts in the Book of Acts about being “all in” as God’s authentic community. For Advent we’ll spend 4 weeks focusing on the theme “He will bring us goodness and light,” learning how the first chapter of the Gospel of John relates to the traditional Christmas stories of the other Gospels.
During Lent, we’re offering a daily prayer, McFarlin’s cross necklace tradition, a book study and live discussion of lenten themes on our Facebook group.
