Associate Director of Children and Family Ministries

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church’s mission is to change lives that change the world. We are seeking an Associate Director of Children and Family Ministries to manage all aspects of Early Childhood Children’s Ministries and to coordinate Children’s Ministry events in cooperation with the Director of Children and Family Ministries.

Responsibilities include:

  •  Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world
  •  Oversee Sunday School for children who are infants through Kindergarten
  •  Recruit and equip volunteers to lead programs and activities
  •  Supervise and give direction to the staff in the Early Childhood area, including the Nursery Coordinator
  •  Oversee the Parents’ Night Out quarterly events
  • Train volunteers in Safe Sanctuaries policies and practices

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working with children in a ministry or educational setting
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate with and relate well to children and adults
  • Ability to work with a team and support the mission of the church
  • Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education or Education preferred

This is a 25-hour per week position and McFarlin offers competitive compensation based on education and experience.

Administrative Assistant for Children and Students Ministries

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church’s mission is to change lives that change the world. Our staff team is guided by the teachings of Colossians 3:12-14, and each are called to be servant leaders who embrace the values of commitment, cooperation, compassion, and kindness as they serve God, each other, and the congregation. We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for Children and Students Ministries to assist the Directors and Associate Directors of Children and Family Ministries and Students Ministries with record keeping, communications, correspondence and other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  •  Maintain records of attendance and participation in all children’s and youth events
  • Manage online and other forms of communication for Children’s and Youth Ministries
  • Assist Director and Associate Director of Children and Family Ministries, and Director and Associate Director of Student Ministries, with the ordering/purchasing of supplies and materials, organization of materials, printing, mailing, and other tasks as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Word
  • Ability to use electronic forms of communication, especially e-mail and social media
  • Ability to work with a team and support the mission of the church
  • Experience working as an administrative assistant preferred

This is a 20-hour per week position, and McFarlin offers competitive compensation based on experience.

Lifeline Worship Leader: We’re currently a seeking a worship leader for our Lifeline modern worship service that meets on Sundays at 10:55AM.

McFarlin’s mission is changing lives that change the world through worship, discipleship, and mission.
McFarlin offers three worship services: 8:30 and 10:55AM traditional Sanctuary worship and 10:55AM Lifeline Modern Worship.

Job Description—Lifeline Modern Worship Leader

  • Must have a dynamic worship presence that communicates a sincere and authentic faith and passion for Jesus Christ.
  • Must seek excellence in musical leadership and able to use a diverse range of contemporary worship music.
  • Must have prior worship leadership experience.
  • Possess strong leadership skills that can lead and shepherd the gifts of a musical worship team and the congregation.
  • Oversee and lead weekly rehearsal with the Lifeline Modern Worship band and organize and facilitate devotions.
  • Ability to work with ProPresenter and Planning Center Online software is helpful.
