Spring Break Mission
March 11 - 18
Middle School & High School Students (6th graders need a family member 18 or older to travel with them), college students, adults, and families. If you want to go … come along! Oh … and invite a friend!!
We will travel to the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. Our mission takes place out of First UMC in McAllen.
Home repair, home construction, building wheelchair ramps, painting, repairing church buildings, leading a VBS and day camp for children … serving those in need to help change lives! We are also looking for folks to be part of our Kitchen Team!
Sign up on Sunday, January 22 (details below) and the cost is $425. Sign up after that date and the cost is $450. This is an all-inclusive cost; meals, transportation, housing, fun outings, trip T-shirt, and project costs.
Each team will have a shirt…this is an extra cost. Snacks while traveling down and back are on your own.
BUT don’t let cost be the reason you don’t go … scholarships are available! We don’t want you to miss out!
We depart Saturday morning, March 11, from McFarlin Church. We drive that day to San Antonio, where we stay overnight at Coker United Methodist Church.
On Sunday, March 12, we drive to McAllen, Texas where we get settled at First United Methodist Church for our week of ministry and fun!
Monday through Friday we serve, serve, serve…working hard at our ministry sites, having fun, building friendships, changing lives, and encountering God in new and renewing ways.
On Wednesday we will work a half day, then spend the afternoon on a fun outing (most likely to South Padre Island and the beach).
Saturday, March 18 we get up early, load up and head home, arriving back in Norman late!
