- Our team will work through the Texas Ramp Project to build wheelchair ramps for several families in need. Currently, there are over hundreds of families in the Rio Grande Valley on a waiting list for a wheelchair ramp. We will do the most we can in a week to make a dent in this list.
- Repairing homes has been an important part of our work in the Rio Grande Valley and that will continue this year as we work on several homes.
The Spring Break Mission started back in 1994 when a small group of youth, college students, and adults traveled to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico to build a casita for a family. Since then, we have built and repaired homes, built school rooms, repaired church buildings, and led Vacation Bible Schools on both sides of the US/Mexico border.
Since 2011 our focus has been on the US side of the border, where the needs are great. Hidalgo County, where much of our work is focused, is one of the poorest counties in the country; but thanks to the people of McFarlin we have the chance to help year after year.
