Students
Welcome to the McFarlin Student Ministries! In our youth program (grades 6-12) we aim to show students how much Jesus loves them and how to walk alongside Christ and each other in their lives! Through missions, small groups, and fellowship we dive deeper into the Christian life and loving all of God’s children.
Weekly Programming
Sunday School: 9:40-10:40am in the youth room.
Wednesday Night Youth: 7-7:30pm dinner with a suggested but not required $5 donation, 7:30-8:45pm middle school and high school meet together, and each week looks a little different as we emphasize small groups, worship, fellowship and missions. Feel free to invite a friend and join us each Wednesday! Drop off and pick up will be at the sliding doors on the southeast side of the building.
BOYS’ BREAKFAST: On Thursdays at 7am, middle school boys are invited to join us in Fenn Hall for a donuts. Before heading to school we circle up for a short time of prayer and devotion, then we load up our church mini buses that go to any of the Norman Public Middle Schools (Whittier, Alcott, Irving, and Longfellow). The southeast sliding doors to Fenn Hall open at 7am. We hope you will invite a friend and join us! Please bring a $5 donation to help cover the cost of the breakfast.
GIRLS’ BREAKFAST: On Fridays at 7am, middle school girls are invited to join us at Panera Bread (2200 W Main Street, Norman, OK 73069). Bring some money to buy breakfast and enjoy the fellowship and laughter with this incredible group! Before heading to school we circle up for a short time of prayer and devotion, then we load up our church mini buses that go to any of the Norman Public Middle Schools (Whittier, Alcott, Irving, and Longfellow). The doors to Panera open at 7am.
High School Lunches: On Thursdays, McFarlin student ministry staff and volunteers pick up at both Norman High and Norman North to take students off campus for lunch. come join us for some mid-week fellowship and a break during the school day! Join the GroupMe (Secure Group Messaging App) to let Kloe know you are coming, and make sure to follow the appropriate check out procedure at your school so you can come off campus with us to lunch! We pick up for both Freshman and Upperclassman lunches.

Youth Fall Retreat
Nov. 15 at Group Dynamic, Dallas, TX
Join us for an unforgettable weekend in Dallas as our Student Ministries and Youth Music Program come together for the Youth Fall Retreat 2024! This year, we’re heading to Group Dynamix, where the mission is to “Connect People in Fun Ways.” It’s more than just a retreat—it’s an opportunity to improve relationships, increase collaboration, and build team unity in a fun and inclusive environment.
High School girls bible study starts Sunday September 15 at 6:30pm, to stay up to date on what we’re doing join our GroupMe!

Ways to Volunteer with Youth
The key to a successful ministry to middle school and high school students is lots of support from adults in the congregation. One way to support our youth is to pray for them, their leaders, and our efforts to reach them with the love of Christ. You can also sign up to help; here are some ways: Middle School Boys Breakfast Help, Middle School Girls Breakfast Help, Sunday School Help, Wednesday Night Helpers with meal prep, serving and clean up, Small Group Leaders for Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, adult sponsors for camps and mission trips and drivers when we have special events and trips. At McFarlin we strongly believe in striving to help lower the barriers that prevent people from engaging in our ministries in every form. One of the ways we work to do this is by offering financial assistance for our events, outings, and trips when we are able to.
