Our May United Women of Faith Event, “Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls, Breaking the Silence,” is on May 21, from 6:30-8:30pm in Fenn Hall. Rev. Judy Deere, Executive Director of Cookson Hills Center, will lead the discussion. Rev. Deere, an ordained Elder of the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference, brings insight as a member of the Muskogee Creek Nation and Choctaw tribes. Currently pursuing her Doctorate of Ministry focusing on Church and Social Justice, her work explores intergenerational trauma among Native Americans and the church’s role in healing. This will be a heart-stirring evening.
Formerly known as United Methodist Women, this group is a supportive, inclusive Christian membership organization where women like you grow spiritually, develop as leaders and serve and work to create a world in which all women, children and youth thrive. United Women in Faith is celebrated as the women’s ministry of The United Methodist Church.
Our members nurture one another in the community and support U.S. and international projects and partners,
improving the lives of women, children and youth with their prayers, volunteer and advocacy efforts, and financial gifts.
Any woman who commits herself to the PURPOSE of United Women in Faith and to engage in mission, study, personal growth and social action can join. You don’t have to be a United Methodist member or meet an age requirement to join the United Women in Faith group.
United Women in Faith is open to ALL women. Our purpose is to know God, to develop supportive fellowship by encouraging one another in spiritual growth and personal development, and to serve others through local and global ministries.
