Spring Break Mission 2025
March 15 - 22
The Spring Break Mission is open to middle and high schoolers, families with children of all ages, college students, young adults, and adults. It is truly an opportunity for people of all ages to join together to make a difference.
You do not need to be a McFarlin United Methodist Church member to participate in the Spring Break Mission.
Spring Break 2025 is March 15 – 22. We depart Saturday morning, March 15 and stay overnight in San Antonio. After driving to McAllen, Texas on Sunday, March 16, we serve in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas the following week. On Saturday, March 22 we drive home to Norman.
We serve in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, working out of First United Methodist Church in McAllen, Texas. We stay at First United Methodist in McAllen, Texas.
Home repair, home construction, building wheelchair ramps, painting, repairing church buildings … serving those in need to help change lives!
Elementary-aged children will serve in age-appropriate ways with Zach James, director of elementary children’s ministries at McFarlin, as we strive to create a mission trip open to people of all ages.
The all-inclusive cost of the Spring Break Mission is $450 per person. This covers transportation, meals, lodging, construction costs, and all other costs associated with the mission trip.
We have discounts for families going together. We also have scholarships available. Please don’t let cost be the reason you don’t participate in the Spring Break Mission.
- We depart Saturday morning, March 15, from McFarlin Church. We drive that day to San Antonio, where we stay overnight at a church.
- On Sunday, March 16, we drive to McAllen, Texas where we get settled at First United Methodist Church for our week of ministry and fun!
- Monday through Friday we serve, serve, serve…working hard at our ministry sites, having fun, building friendships, changing lives, and encountering God in new and renewing ways.
- On Wednesday we will work a half day, then spend the afternoon at the beach on South Padre Island.
- Saturday, March 22 we get up early, load up, and head home, arriving back in Norman late!
The theme for the 2025 Spring Break Mission is “One.” There is so much divisiveness in our world, a mission trip is an opportunity for us to come together and serve in the name of Jesus Christ. No matter your age, gifts, talents, abilities, past experiences, beliefs about God, how much you have or don’t have, or where you come from, we all gather together to love, serve, and grow together as one team!
Fund A Project is the name of our fundraiser that helps us raise money for the Spring Break Mission.
