55+ Ministries strive to provide support to older adults of various ages through spiritual growth, service, fellowship and education, empowering them to continue in their faith journey and be actively involved at McFarlin United Methodist Church.

Luncheons
Bonus Years Luncheons occur the first Wednesday of each month (except January, July, and August) from 10:30-1 in Fenn Hall. This is for anyone ages 55 and up. Chef Aaron prepares a meal, we enjoy singing hymns, visiting, and have a different speaker or program each month. The meal is $10 per person. Rsvp a week in advance to smiller@mcfarlinumc.org.
Day Trips
Bonus Years monthly day trips are for anyone ages 55 and up.
March 14th- Tulsa—We will visit Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art, tour the Boston Ave. Methodist Church and experience the Center of the Universe. Cost $20.00 & Dutch treat lunch TBD. Paperwork and money due by March 7th. Buses will be ready to load at 7:30 and will leave at 8:00 a.m.
April 18th– We’re off to Guthrie to have a guided tour of the Masonic Temple. Lunch will be a Dutch treat at the popular Stables. In the afternoon, there will be an opportunity to visit down town Guthrie to explore the many interesting places, including antique shops and the Drug Store Museum. Cost $20.00. Paperwork and money due by April 10th. Buses will be ready to load at 8:15 and will leave at 8:45 a.m.
May 16th– OKC- Ozarka Water Bottling Company. Dutch treat lunch at Joey’s Pizzeria the Canal $25.00. Paperwork and money due by May 9th. Buses will load at 9:15
June 20th– Chartered Bus to Claremore! – J.M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum. Dutch treat lunch and tour at the Belvidere Mansion.Will Rogers Museum. Blue Whale.$30.00. Paperwork and money due by June 12th. Bus will load at 7:30
Line Dancing Group
This group meets every Tuesday at 10:30am in room #320 for fun and exercise. Several times a month they travel off-site for performances in the local area. Please contact Stephanie Miller at 405-321–3484 if you are interested in participating.
Staying Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)
A comprehensive evidence–based fitness program of low to moderate impact provided by UCO Center for Active Living & Learning. Exercises are chosen to help you stay independent, active and prevent falls. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-2:30PM in Fenn Hall.
Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group
This group meets for lunch the 3rd Wednesday of each month in room 209 at 11:30-1pm. Quarterly, a guest speaker presents on related topics. Cost of lunch is $7. Please contact Stephanie Miller at 405-321–3484 if you are interested in participating.
Senior Adult Care Team (SACT)
This is a team of volunteers who make monthly contacts with constituents who reside in senior adult facilities or are homebound.
