Living Parables
Sermon Series, June 1 - July 6
Jesus didn’t just tell stories—he told parables. These short, memorable narratives weren’t simply moral lessons or children’s tales. They were bold, provocative, justice-centered teachings meant to reimagine how we live together in community.
This summer, join us for Living Parables, a worship series that explores how Jesus’ most iconic parables speak directly to the way we live in economic, social, and political communities. This series goes beyond personal piety or one-on-one relationships. It invites us to hear Jesus’ words anew and ask:
What kind of community is God calling us to become?
Rooted in scripture and paired with historical and cultural insight, Living Parables will help us see that the Kingdom of God is not a distant dream—it’s something we’re meant to build together here and now.
What to Expect:
A six-week sermon series exploring key parables of Jesus
A focus on justice, compassion, and community
Stories that challenge us to rethink power, equity, and grace
Weekly reflections that connect biblical teaching to real-world living
Whether you’ve heard these parables a hundred times or you’re encountering them for the first time, Living Parables will open your heart to the surprising, upside-down world Jesus envisioned—and the role we each play in it.
