Lent at McFarlin

Below you’ll find details about all of our Lent opportunities and events!

Lenten Study

Practicing Conversation Style Bible Study: Mixing It Up with Scripture and Experience, Led by Pastor Rockford

March 9 - April 13

Pastor Rockford will lead this special Sunday School Class during the season of Lent—March 9—April 13.  Each week this series will center in and/or relate to the biblical text for that Sunday’s sermon in the series, “Practicing the Way.”  The class will include mutual reading of those sermon Scripture texts and other selected biblical passages that Rockford will bring.  We will engage in discussion and conversation as a practice of seeking meaning, insight, and direction while mixing experiences of life with the witness of the Holy Writings.

Holy Week Concert - The Crucifixion

April 13 @ 3pm

Join us for a powerful musical journey through Christ’s passion as McFarlin Music Ministries presents The Crucifixion by John Stainer. This stunning work for choir, soloists, and orchestra offers a dramatic and moving reflection on the sacrifice of Jesus, preparing our hearts for Holy Week. The Crucifixion is a sacred oratorio composed in 1887, blending scripture and hymn-like choruses to guide us through the events leading to the cross. This special Palm Sunday concert is an opportunity to reflect on Christ’s love and sacrifice through breathtaking music.

Be part of a transformative Modern Maundy Thursday Service on April 17 at 6:30 pm in Fenn Hall.
