30 Days of Kindness Leading Up to Election Day

Elections matter. Our voices matter. Participating in the life of our community, state, and nation matters.

And so does the way we treat one another along the way.

As we move closer to the midterm elections, political ads, arguments, social media posts, and headlines will only get louder. It can become easy to see one another first as Republicans or Democrats, conservatives or liberals, winners or losers, and forget that before any of those labels, we are neighbors.

That’s why McFarlin is launching Love to Vote | Vote to Love. This is a simple invitation to stay engaged without losing our heart for one another.

We want you to vote. Learn about the issues. Participate in the process. Exercise your rights. Help shape the kind of community and country you want to live in. AND as you do, remember Jesus’ call to love your neighbor doesn’t disappear during election season.

Wear the Reminder

Beginning at Picnic at the Park, we’ll be handing out Love to Vote | Vote to Love bracelets. Additional bracelets will be available at church throughout the weeks leading up to the election.

Wear yours as a simple reminder: I can care deeply about what I believe without treating people who disagree with me as enemies.

The bracelet isn’t an endorsement of a party, candidate, or political position. It’s a commitment to something deeper than politics, a commitment to the kind of people we choose to be with one another.

Vote for What You Believe. Live What You Believe.

Our hope isn’t for everyone at McFarlin to vote the same way. We hope that no matter how we vote, people will recognize us by the way we love.

So participate. Speak up. Cast your ballot.

And for the 30 days leading up to Election Day, join us in showing our community that disagreement does not have to become division and conviction does not require cruelty.
