Freedom Center & Clara Luper National Sit-In Plaza Day Trip

March 7 | OKC

McFarlin’s Just Action Team invites you to join us for a meaningful half-day outing to Oklahoma City as we visit the newly renovated Freedom Center and the Clara Luper National Sit-In Monument Plaza.

This day trip offers an opportunity to learn, reflect, and connect with the powerful history of the Civil Rights Movement in Oklahoma. Together, we will explore stories of courage, faith, and nonviolent action that continue to shape our understanding of justice and community today.

What to Expect
  • Guided visits to the Freedom Center and Clara Luper National Sit-In Plaza
  • Space for learning, reflection, and conversation across generations
  • A meaningful way to engage faith and justice together

All ages are welcome, and families are encouraged to attend.

Schedule & Meal Plans

Exact departure and return times are still being finalized based on the Freedom Center’s hours of operation. Participants will have the opportunity to share a meal at Norman First American UMC’s Wild Onion Dinner at McFarlin either before departing or upon returning.
