At McFarlin we believe we grow in God’s grace and in our faith through participation in the larger community of Sunday morning worship… and in the smaller connectional community of small groups.
Why small groups? Small groups provide fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and loving accountability. Small groups provide the right type of environment to grow in your relationship with God and with others. Jesus invited a small group of twelve disciples to join him in changing the world. He understood that meaningful change takes place in the context of small group relationships.

McFarlin’s Adult Sunday School classes provide care, fellowship, and spiritual growth Sunday mornings from 9:40 – 10:40.
These community groups have formed by age group, study format, or area of emphasis, but each is integral to the life and ministry of McFarlin UMC.

Outreach: For many years (over 10, I believe) the McFarlin UMM have been sponsoring residents of the United Methodist Boy’s Ranch in Gore to come to an OU Basketball and/or Baseball game. It usually includes a visit with the coach and a tour of the facilities. We had them scheduled to come to a basketball game earlier this year, but the threat of snow caused us to cancel. They finally got to come to a baseball game (Sam Houston St.) on April 25. They got to tour the facilities, including the team’s locker room, training room, etc. We always treat them to CiCi’s Pizza after the game. As you would expect, the boys can put away some pizza!! Six guys, two chaperones, and one chaperone’s daughter came. Bob Staples, Roy Hickman, and Joe Sanders met the group at the stadium. I managed to meet Bob, Roy and the group at Ci Ci’s before they departed for home. Everybody had a great time, even though OU lost the game in extra innings. Grace and Peace, Bill Chissoe.
The United Methodist Women is open to ALL women. Our purpose is to know God, to develop supportive fellowship by encouraging one another in spiritual growth and personal development and to serve others through local and global ministries. . We invite you to join our fellowship as we minister through mission and grow spiritually, educationally, and personally. McFarlin’s UMW unit of over 165 women, in keeping with our diverse membership, is divided into small groups that meet weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly during the morning, afternoon, or evening.
